Arctic & Subarctic
Since it’s formation in 2006, GardinHaag has supported Arctic and Subarctic projects around the world. Major Oil & Gas Operators have utilised our services to develop technically qualified solutions for low temperature/ sea ice applications in the Beaufort, Barents, Sakhalin and N.E.Caspian Seas.
Our involvement in creating ISO 19906 “Arctic Offshore Structures” (the EER section) and the design, development and testing of different Arctic evacuation methods is helping Operators and Main Contractors understand performance-based standards used to determine, implement and maintain lowest risk EER strategies and equipment at different types of locations.
There is no single evacuation method that is/ will be suitable for all offshore sea ice locations. The environmental and technological hazards that can be present at the facility/ marine vessel will dictate the EER performance standards criteria.
One evacuation in ice solution is being promoted by a leading Lifeboat manufacturer to meet most conditions. Gardin-Haag have been closely involved in its assessment against different client’s requirements, guidance, technology qualification, design development and testing.
